Pleats and a ruffled hem keep this skirt very ladylike and proper, but is the length appropriate? The description says knee length, but with a high-heeled pump it might be less modest than if it were paired with ballet flats or a kitten heeled Mary Jane. So, is it Modest or Not?

Tory Burch has built a fashion house out of updated classics that real women want to wear. This look from her Spring 2011 collection is a prime example of what her line stands for. It’s simple, chic day wear at its best; a combination of neutral pieces, pulled together with a cinched stretch belt bearing the brand’s recognizable (but never flashy) logo. The conservative cuts of the fluid cream skirt and its beige sweater counterpart are body conscious enough to keep from sliding into unflattering territory. Pair this look with knee high boots for fall and strappy sandals for Spring for a transitional, polished look.
